When a family considers transitioning their loved one to senior living, one of the biggest concerns is that the senior’s life will change immensely. While they will have access to the care they may not receive at home, that doesn’t mean seniors will stop doing the things they love. Windsor strives to integrate the local community and culture into its programming, promoting activities that seniors would normally do while residing outside of the facility.
Comprehensive program
A fully comprehensive life enrichment program in a retirement community hits all five dimensions of wellness—emotional, social, spiritual, physical, and educational.
Some current literature adds a sixth dimension, occupational, meaning recognizing personal satisfaction and enrichment in one’s life through work. Windsor’s life enrichment department uses these six domains to improve and maintain our resident’s quality of life. Our comprehensive program begins as a personal journey of growth and enrichment but in most cases extends to affect not only our residents but also their family, friends, neighbors, and the surrounding community.
