Ohio Department of Health Visitation Guidelines: August 3rd 2020 Update

Residents of Windsor Medical Center,

Effective July 20th, 2020 per guidance from the Ohio Department of Health, residents in Nursing Homes throughout the state may begin to receive limited visitation. The Windsor is extremely pleased to be able to open visitation to your loved ones beginning August 3rd, 2020. There are guidelines that the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) has established for visitation and which we must adhere to during the visitation permitted by the State, which are explained in this letter. While the limitations are still quite restrictive we would like to underscore that they are in place for the protection of the vulnerable populations of elder care facilities, we would also like to remind everyone that these state-imposed restrictions are not permanent in nature and will be relaxed as the situation surrounding COVID 19 becomes more stable. These visitations are just a first step in our return to a new normal in our daily lives.

All visitations must be scheduled in advance by calling Windsor Medical Center and dialing the reception desk at extension 1399. Only one visitor per day will be allowed for each resident, and visits are limited to 30 minutes in duration. Upon arrival visitors must come to the front entrance to be screened for signs and symptoms of COVD 19, after successful screening visitors will be shown to a seating location on the covered side patio and the screener will bring the resident to be visited out for the visitation. Visitors must bring their own face mask or other PPE to be used in conjunction with the visitation as mandated by ODH. During your visit, the social distancing of 6 feet must still be maintained per ODH guidance. Unfortunately, ODH is not allowing visitors to enter the facility at this time so this means that no restroom facilities will be available for visitors at this time.

We look forward to a time when we can resume normal visitation in a minimally invasive format for our visitors, however, we are thankful that we are able to begin to allow visitation to our residents who have in most cases gone months without a face to face visit from their loved ones. We also thank you for your compliance with the procedures required to facilitate the visitations as outlined by ODH. From all of us here at Windsor we wish you a safe and healthy summer!
